A San Francisco man was arrested on Tuesday morning for allegedly vandalizing a 29-story residence constructing by opening up a fireplace hose valve, forcing tenants to evacuate large floods.
Firefighters had been referred to as to 100 Van Ness in the Civic Middle neighborhood at 5:30 a.m. resulting from experiences of a fireplace alarm. First responders reportedly discovered a unadorned man subsequent to a pipe that was gushing water.
The suspect, recognized as 46-year-old Michael Nien by FOX 2 San Francisco, was a resident of the high-rise constructing. Residents say that he opened a fireplace hose valve on the eleventh ground, inflicting high-pressure floods to surge all through the constructing.
The suspect was arrested for felony vandalism and resisting arrest on Tuesday. He was later booked into San Francisco County Jail.
