A courageous Texas grandfather stepped in to assist save a girl from being carjacked at gunpoint.
The 73-year-old, who local outlet KHOU later identified as Simon Mancilla Sr., observed the girl being choked by the alleged suspect exterior of a check-cashing enterprise in Houston on Sept. 7
According to police, the girl left the examine cashing enterprise and approached her truck when the armed suspect demanded the keys to her 2011 GMC Sierra.
Footage launched on Monday captures Mancilla’s violent confrontation with the suspect when he notices the girl is in peril.
“I open my window, ‘Hey man … don’t make an issue,’” Mancilla Sr. told the outlet.
Mancilla Sr, a grandfather of 11 youngsters, tried to drag the suspect out of the automobile, however was pistol-whipped on the top and was left needing stitches.
The suspect, who stays unidentified as of Wednesday morning, fled the scene within the stolen pickup truck. The truck has but to be recovered because the suspect stays on the free.
