‘Creed,’ ‘Rocky’ spinoff ‘Drago’ in the works starring Dolph Lundgren

“Rocky” legend Ivan Drago is getting his personal movie.

The enduring character, portrayed by Dolph Lundgren, 64, within the boxing movie franchise, will likely be on the heart of the brand new film.

Producers are holding plot particulars on the down-low, however based on the Wrap, the movie, titled “Drago,” follows the Russian fighter Ivan Drago and his son, Viktor (Florian Munteanu), who made his debut in 2018’s “Creed 2.”

Screenwriter Robert Lawton is ready to pen the screenplay, with MGM producing.

Lundgren touched upon a spinoff last year in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter. “By the best way, I feel there’s some speak about doing a complete spinoff on Drago with MGM. So chances are you’ll get extra of that,” he mentioned.

The “Creed” franchise was created by Sylvester Stallone in 2015 as a sequel collection to “Rocky.” Michael B. Jordan stars as Adonis, the son of Rocky’s nemesis Apollo Creed, and can reprise the function within the upcoming “Creed 3.”

Jordan, 35, will direct the third installment of “Creed,” which debuts November 23, simply in time for the Thanksgiving vacation weekend.

Stallone, 76, just lately slammed “Rocky” and “Creed” producer Irwin Winkler in a now-deleted social media submit, relating to the possession of the boxing film franchise. The “Expendables” star claimed there “would’ve been at the least one other three ‘Rocky’ ” movies if not for the Winklers.
