A Washington state man is dealing with as much as 20 years in jail after he admitted to leaping over a beverage cart and making an attempt to take off his garments aboard an American Airlines flight, which needed to be diverted.

Adam Alexander Williams, 33, of Auburn, Washington, pleaded responsible Thursday to interference with flight members and attendants, greater than 5 months after inflicting a flight from Seattle to Charlotte, North Carolina, to land in Billings, Montana, according to the US Attorney’s Office for the District of Montana.

Williams will probably be sentenced at a later date. Along with jail time, he additionally faces a $25,000 positive and three years of supervised launch.

In keeping with courtroom paperwork, Williams was touring to North Carolina on Jan. 9 when his conduct “turned erratic and escalated” mid-flight.
